The goal of The Waldrip Center for Therapeutic Massage is to prepare students for a rewarding life as a professional massage therapist.

Our program meets or exceeds all current state and national requirements.

Our teaching philosophy is to honor and encourage the individual in a supportive environment. We encourage our students to use this program as a tool for both professional development and personal growth.

Our comprehensive training makes it possible for you to begin a career in massage with many choices. Do you want to work on a cruise ship? Or a chiropractic office? A rehabilitation clinic, a doctor's office, or a hospital - the medical side of massage? Or do you want the flexibility of setting your own work hours in your own business? Or hotels, resorts, spas, the glamorous side of massage.

At the core of our massage therapy program is a Commitment to an ethical and therapeutic approach to massage therapy. The program consists of foundation courses that combine the scientific knowledge of the body, a variety of massage techniques, communication skills and business practices to create an Optimally effective massage therapist. A clinical practicum course gives you invaluable supervised experience providing massage services to the public. Unlike many massage therapy schools, we understand that it is not just knowing massage technique which creates an effective and Successful massage therapist; we teach you a Client-Centered philosophy, You learn how to interview and assess each client to create a Unique therapeutic experience, every session, every time.

WCTM's curriculum has been carefully crafted to provide a Comprehensive, broad-based approach to learning the art and science of Therapeutic Massage. Our teaching staff's dedication to clinical practice ensures that our curriculum focuses principally on Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

Also included are Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology, Shiatsu and Acupressure, Reflexology, Energy Balancing modalities, Sports Massage, Myofascial Release along with a core curriculum of Swedish and therapeutic massage.

Our approach is teaching such a variety of modalities is to Clarify the Understanding principles which unify them. Our students develop the skill and talent to use these tools through many hours of hands-on, classroom practice under close instructor supervision.

After completing our 700 hour, full-time, massage therapy program, graduates are academically eligible to be licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Massage Therapy and begin Work immediately, Students are also eligible and encouraged to sit for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork Exam.
